Con motivo de la celebraci\u00f3n de San Jorge el d\u00eda 23 de abril cada a\u00f1o el Colegio Saint George celebra la Semana Georgiana entorno a su patrono. Parte de su celebraci\u00f3n se basa en la \u00abLeyenda del Drag\u00f3n\u00bb: Cuenta la leyenda medieval\u00a0que en un poblado habitaba un drag\u00f3n que ten\u00eda a los aldeanos atemorizados y para tranquilizarlo ten\u00edan que ofrecerle sacrificios humanos. Un d\u00eda la princesa fue elegida para ser sacrificada, pero San Jorge lo impidi\u00f3 matando con su espada al drag\u00f3n. El mito cuenta que de la sangre del drag\u00f3n brot\u00f3 una rosa que San Jorge regal\u00f3 a la princesa liberando a todos los habitantes del lugar.\u00a0Para la simbolog\u00eda cristiana, San Jorge venci\u00f3 al mal con ayuda de Dios, por eso muchos lugares como Catalu\u00f1a, Inglaterra y Portugal cuentan con San Jorge como su protector. En particular, la devoci\u00f3n por \u00e9l en Inglaterra hizo que se eligiera como patrono del colegio en Chile considerando que se ense\u00f1ar\u00eda ingl\u00e9s, transform\u00e1ndose en su protector e intercesor.<\/p>\n
Este a\u00f1o la celebraci\u00f3n se realiz\u00f3 ambientada en las pel\u00edculas de: Marvel, Avatar, Harry Potter, Star Wars, Disney y Piratas del Caribe. El Consejo Directivo se visti\u00f3 de acuerdo a la ocasi\u00f3n, para recibir a los y las estudiantes el d\u00eda mi\u00e9rcoles 27 de abril pasado, dando inicio as\u00ed, a lo que fueron tres intensos d\u00edas de disfraces, m\u00fasica, colores y sana competencia entre los cursos. Todos los estudiantes vinieron con excelentes disfraces, participaron del dancing girls y dancing boys, duelos de baile, postas, partidos de f\u00fatbol, quemadas de cuatro esquinas, competencia de canto, de habilidades art\u00edsticas, como siempre tuvimos los infaltables inflables de la I Unidad y mucho m\u00e1s.<\/p>\n
Fue una celebraci\u00f3n en donde estudiantes, docentes, auxiliares y administrativos pudieron gozar de tres d\u00edas de fiesta georgiana, desarroll\u00e1ndose con \u00e9xito la Semana Georgiana 2022.<\/p>\n
