El pasado 02 de noviembre, como comunidad de la Congregaci\u00f3n de Santa Cruz, nos reunimos para recordar y orar por nuestros hermanos difuntos, en un encuentro que este a\u00f1o tuvo un significado especial gracias a la iniciativa de los Archivos del Distrito. Bajo el lema \u00abSin memoria no hay futuro\u00bb, realizamos una ceremonia de homenaje y bendici\u00f3n de monumentos en honor al Hogar Santa Cruz y al P. Joseph O. Tierney, C.S.C., conocido cari\u00f1osamente como \u00abPadre Pepe\u00bb. Este momento nos permiti\u00f3 reconocer el valor de nuestra historia y la importancia de conservarla para las nuevas generaciones.<\/p>\n
Recordamos al Hogar Santa Cruz, una obra hist\u00f3rica de nuestro Distrito, cuyo edificio fue construido originalmente para acoger hasta 28 ni\u00f1os y ni\u00f1as. Actualmente, este espacio alberga diferentes servicios e iniciativas de nuestra Congregaci\u00f3n, como la Administraci\u00f3n, la oficina del Superior, Rosario en Familia, los Archivos y FundaMor. Su historia nos recuerda nuestro compromiso con el servicio y la atenci\u00f3n a quienes m\u00e1s lo necesitan.<\/p>\n

Tambi\u00e9n rendimos homenaje al P. Joseph O. Tierney, C.S.C., sacerdote norteamericano conocido como \u00abPadre Pepe\u00bb, quien desarroll\u00f3 su ministerio en la poblaci\u00f3n de Pe\u00f1alol\u00e9n Alto, Chile. Su vida estuvo marcada por la sencillez, la cercan\u00eda con las familias y una profunda dedicaci\u00f3n a los j\u00f3venes y a las personas m\u00e1s necesitadas. Vivi\u00f3 humildemente y entreg\u00f3 generosamente su vida al servicio de los dem\u00e1s.<\/p>\n
Su historia qued\u00f3 marcada por la tragedia de Punta de Tralca, cuando, durante una actividad con j\u00f3venes, fue sorprendido por el fuerte oleaje junto a dos de ellos, Juan e Isabel. Aunque inicialmente logr\u00f3 nadar hacia la playa y pudo salvarse, al escuchar los gritos de auxilio de sus compa\u00f1eros decidi\u00f3 regresar al mar para intentar rescatarlos. Nunca m\u00e1s volvi\u00f3 a la orilla. Su \u00faltimo gesto fue una expresi\u00f3n extraordinaria de amor y entrega por los dem\u00e1s, dejando una profunda huella en la comunidad que lo conoci\u00f3.<\/p>\n
